Asian Pan-Genome Project (APG)

The Asian Pan-Genome (APG) project uses long-read sequencing and haplotype-resolved genome assemblies to characterize genetic diversity across Asian populations. Phase 1 comprises 320 nearly complete, phased assemblies from 160 East Asian individuals, enabling analyses of structural variation and complex genomic regions that are difficult to resolve with a single reference genome.

The project provides genome assemblies, annotations and pangenome graphs as resources for studies of human evolution and precision medicine. Visit the project website to explore its data and genome browsers, or read the phase 1 paper.
